Ethnic Bead Necklaces

Beads have always traveled, serving as trade items, portable wealth, personal adornment, or as fetishes embodying power for protection, health, prosperity, and happiness.

In that tradition, Mette collects old components from various ethnic peoples, combining them in her own unique designs with her own handmade porcelain beads. Many of these beads have been worn and loved. In this necklace they are honored again, imbued with old and new meaning.
