Swan Bowls
Swan bowls start as a ball of clay, which is painstakingly pinched into a bowl shape. The head and tail are added and the details are sculpted and carved into the clay. The finished shape is then rubbed with oxides and glazes, and high fired. After firing, acrylic paints are used to make finely detailed designs on the head and tail, and varnished to a high shine.
These bowls are intended as decorative items, and should not be washed in the dishwasher or immersed in water – they can be cleaned by wiping with a soft, damp cloth.
